The 453 model was the biggest most expensive engine made by Eric Jeanerette for W&S.
With its chimney attached it stood 10 1/2 inches tall. Costing 16/-

Here is my recently acquired 453 minus its chimney.

This little filling cup came with the engine.
I do not know if it originally came with it or if it was just added to the engine at a later date, although it does look a lot like the filling cups from Bing engines

The base of these engines also bears a strong resemblance to the bases of Bing engines from the same time.
W&S had been importing German toys so it is possible that the filling cups and engine bases were originally made by Bing, although I have no evidence this is the case.

My 453 being given its first run.

2007 Tony Muir unless stated otherwise. Should you wish to use any photos though just ask and permission will most likely be given
