Prototype Model Railways
Prototype Model Railways was one of the few Australian pre-war 0 gauge Model railway companies.
Around 1935 John Rogers May and Alan David Budge started making wooden models of Victoria Railway Prototypes.

They made AW, BW, ABW, AV and BV class coaches and a CW guards van.

For goods stock they made C produce van, K timber wagon, IB open wagon, M cattle van, T goods van, W truck and a Z brake van.
With the onset of war John enlisted in the army on 16th July 1940, with production ceasing at this time and it was not continued after the war.

My example of an AW coach

I was recently contacted by Trevor Budge, Alan Budge's son.
He was kind enough to supply my photos of his collection of Prototype Model Railway wagon's and Coaches made by his father.
Now to only find some for my own collection...............
